a taste (5.33am)

when i am first in someone’s home, my eyes are drawn to their shelves of books.

eager for a glimpse of where they have been, what they have seen and heard in this life.

the have you read…  the did you know

an older together friend has collected a library’s worth of books as he searches and discovers and sifts and takes in.

he is one of those who thirst for knowing.  the ones who drink it in gulps, eager for refills.

his learn and discover spills into my next door life… splashing on to heart and mind.

like excitement holding out a sweet sticky lollipop…compelling an also taste….

i always find myself reaching for it.

“know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul;
    if you find it, there is a future hope for you,
    and your hope will not be cut off.”

proverbs 24.14 (NIV,1984)

  1. At my house, you’ll see a lot of cookbooks, some history books, books about wars and Detroit. I have over 400 cookbooks and they bring me great pleasure.

  2. “A Taste”, there is always appreciation you will come to realize knowing you have read so many books over time, on just about anything. Reading books helps enriches the way we live and do things.

thoughts, reactions or found a typo? i would love to know...
