circling christmas (11.12am)

we are drawn to people circled.  when we gather in shared focus—-it is magnetic.

sometimes the center viewed is:

harm-full. one releasing self-control to hurt another. injury. broken.

purpose-full. rescue in the happening. care of the one anothers. teaching towards truth.

joy-full.  reunion of soldier and family. dance that music demands. gifting.

what and who we choose to circle draws others in.

in circling christmas i choose:

the coming together.

the hurried must do.

the beauty and brightness.

the anxious is it enough.

the at home in traditions.

the counted to closely gits.

the greatest giver.

suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising god and saying,

“glory to god in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

when the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “let’s go to bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the lord has told us about.”

Luke 2:13-15 (NIV)

  1. Thank you for this. I admit I sometimes give in to “anxious is it enough” thoughts that only serve to displace joy.

    • i’m with you beth. i feel like i am fighting off the negative and looking around for the positive during much of the christmas “season”. then i wake up on christmas day and it’s all slipped away and it’s this lovely time of family and giving and togetherness. thankful for that!

  2. you are so right…we attract more of what we place our focus on. sometimes seems illogical or unlikely. but we just need to keep coming back to circling the good things, the positive, more of what we would like in our lives. love the picture that you drew in my mind with this post. x

thoughts, reactions or found a typo? i would love to know...
