gifting christmas (7.48am)

collections of christmas-looks-like-this nestled in green. stockings filled with sweet. boxes waiting to set free faces of delighted. left behind in the wrapping-paper-ribbon-debris is a heart scribbled list of what i would love to gift them.

it would be the whole world if my heart had it’s way.

it would be:

contentment and knowing they are counted worth the while.

hope even when hands are empty.

sure steps towards plans promised for their good.

freedom from grasping for love….the wholeness that happens when it comes to rest on you.

a home that travels with them. in suitcases, boxes and bags—knowing it is forever.

the delight and looking for of youth, the peace and joy of wisdom’s age.

hands that are open to giving, not fearful of receiving.

understanding of  doors both opened and closed.

the strength required to change direction.

a heart that keeps sight of one another.

spirit softened to Spirit’s prompting.

journey towards a savior who is nearest of all.

  1. thank you Kris, a very merry Xmas to you and family. It is great joy to be celebrating the coming of our saviour this Xmas.

  2. gave me goosebumps. Thinking trough each part I was struck by how true each was. I found myself in many parts. The softening of spirit to the prompting of Spirit…..especially at Christmas. the difference between youth visions and old visions…….I found it quite beautiful and comforting. No matter the circumstance it encourages hope.

thoughts, reactions or found a typo? i would love to know...
