living in desert where sun is always present and expectation is clear skies, wonder of sunrise sunset begins to fade from day after day of blue.
light revealing book ends to each day, they become worth only glance or even a turning away—–shading eyes against interfering bright.
then comes season of clouded days and weather that demands attention. suddenly each presentation of beginning and end become stop and look at reasons.
i see some who carry suffering without expectation of end lit up from within. layers of joy at who god is to them because daily clouds highlight his brighter than anything presence and peace.
excitement in i-know-what-you’ve-done-for-me-lord requires looking at. this life’s weather frames his doing and being and points to glory breaking through.
rise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the lord has risen upon you.
for behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the lord will arise upon you,
and his glory will be seen upon you.
and nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.
